The problem with any cement coating, is trying to decipher which type you truly need or want. The following list may prove helpful, each of them is a different type of cement coating.

There are clear silicone sealers, concrete floor stains, latex floor paint, enamel floor paint, latex and acrylic floor sealers, epoxy ester floor sealers, solvent based urethane floor sealers, water based urethane floor sealers, epoxy floor sealers, urethane floor coatings that are solvent based, and water based urethane floor coatings, and solvent based or water based epoxy floor coatings. Now if you know the differences between all of these, and understand each product well, you are probably into floor coatings as a business!

The problem is often deciding among these, which has no VOCs, Volatile Organic Compounds, and perhaps which offers the longest lasting durability. In addition, you may well have an interior decorator or someone in that type of work asking for various looks or colors, whereas you may be more interested in figuring out which will take you out of commission the longest as the floor dries or cures, prior to you being able to return fully to work. Beware; some of them are extraordinary long, sometimes lasting days on end prior to allowing you to return to work or full functionality. Others may be extremely interested in finding out about non-slip or non-skid flooring.

Those in need of the nonskid flooring usually need a floor that is sturdy and tough enough to bear up with the movements of weighty loads across the surface of the floor. That means that the floor surface cannot warp, split or crack under those weighty movements. Non-slip may mean that no matter what is dropped on the floor, whether it is greasy, watery or just downright slippery, the floor can offer complete safety to those who walk upon it. This is exceptionally important to mechanics who work on planes in hangars, for instance, or those who might have to deal with greasy animal parts as they work perhaps in a chicken rendering plant, as an example.

In all instances above, the very best cement coating is Silikal.
